Why the color of the sand is pink on some beaches?

The sand is pink in color because of some tiny water species present in the water with red shells named homotrimer rubrum and when they die their shell and body is mixed up with the sand making it pink in color.
And since these water species are not present on every beach this is why not all beaches have pink sand.
